Our Global Causes

Lions Clubs International focuses on eight global causes to address pressing challenges faced by communities worldwide. Here they are:

  • 1. Vision: Preventing avoidable blindness and improving the quality of life for those who are blind or visually impaired.
  • 2. Diabetes: Reducing the prevalence of diabetes and improving the quality of life for those diagnosed.
  • 3. Hunger: Ensuring community members have access to nutritious food.
  • 4. Environment: Protecting and restoring the environment through various initiatives.
  • 5. Childhood Cancer: Supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer.
  • 6. Humanitarian Efforts: Responding to humanitarian needs, including disaster relief.
  • 7. Youth: Empowering young people through leadership development and service opportunities.
  • 8. Disaster Relief: Whenever and wherever disaster strikes, Lions are often among the first to offer aid. LCIF is ready to support their efforts with funding assistance through global disaster relief programs.

Special Initiatives

  • Mental Health & Well-Being: Promoting mental health awareness and supporting initiatives to improve mental well-being.
  • Recovery for Disaster Victims: When a major catastrophe strikes, Lions are often among the first to respond and the last to leave. Our Disaster Relief Fund helps make sure we're there when we're needed.
  • Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine: Whether supporting refugees escaping the war or providing aid to citizens remaining in the country, LCIF grants directly benefit Ukrainians in need.
  • Sight For Kids: LCIF and Johnson & Johnson Vision co-founded Sight For Kids to mobilize Lions and eye care professionals to provide eye health services in underserved communities around the world.
